I’m Sara, I live in Sheffield, UK and I run A Cinderella Fable.
I started this blog as somewhere to put all the posts that my geek and gamer friends wouldn’t want to read and as a way of charting my progress.
You see, I’ve never been a girly girl. I was always the tomboy found hanging out with the lads and would have more use for a mascara brush as a weapon than a beauty product. However, as I reached my mid-twenties I decided I should probably start looking into all this how to be girly stuff.
I’m by no means an expert, and there’s a lot more that I don’t know than I do, so I figured, that seeing as I know I’m not the only one, that I’d chart my explorations into the world of beauty and make-up and grown up stuff as much for myself as anyone else.
I’m now 30, and with that bit more wisdom behind me know that I don’t need to segregate things so much, so you’ll find a bit of everything on here – all with one thing in common; my no-nonsense opinions! There’s Beauty, as I can’t abandon the original purpose of the blog, and there’s Lifestyle as well, because it’s another massive part of my life. I read a lot (especially on buses) and I go to the cinema now more than I did in my twenties. You’ll also find Tech and Gaming, because I am still a huge geek, and that’s something to be celebrated! I don’t get as much time for really intensive games anymore, but it’s a good way to wind down, and I’m still attracted to all things shiny. And lastly, there’s a Food section, because I have somewhere on the internets, another site, which used to be quite popular where I would post pictures of things I’ve cooked and concocted, and it’s a massive part of my life.
So as it is with me in person, the blog is very much you get what you see! I’ve separated it into helpful categories, so if you’re only interested in say the beauty posts, you can have a look just at those… but why not take a chance… you might find something you never realised you liked!
So do take a look around, feel free to comment on what you read, as my opinion is just that, and I’m interested in yours too!
